WELCOME TO LA TRANCHARDIÈRE

 

This restful part of France is the ideal place for you to recharge your batteries. We have two cottages for rent in tranquil surroundings that are situated in a very small hamlet at the end of a quiet and virtually traffic free country lane.

The surrounding countryside is part of the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty, which not only makes good walking country but also offers many other outdoor pursuits. La Tranchardière is very safe for children who are always welcome (baby-sitting can be arranged).

View of the cottagesThe local village of SAINT-CALAIS-du-DESÉRT is approximately 1.5 hours from CAEN, 2 hours from CHERBOURG and 4 hours from ROSCOFF. It is located within the MAYENNE Department of the the Western Loire Region, and is just to the south of the NORMANDY border.

The village is 3 kilometers away and has a bread shop, a small food shop and a good restaurant. You would also be located within easy reach of several market towns and many places of interest.

LA BELLE FRANCE French Immersion Breaks

It is said that the English eat to live whereas the French live to eat ! France is of course a country that is renouned for its gastronomic delights, its bread, its cheeses, its Cognac, its wines and of course Champagne.

The French language is also described as "The Language of Love".
